November Orchestra News

Reedy Orchestra kicked off the month of October with All-Region on the 15th. Congratulations to the 28 All-Region selected musicians from Reedy Orchestra this year!

Our program is so proud of all our students who participated in the audition process and grew from the experience. Nine Reedy Orchestra students shown below advanced to the Area round and recorded on October 29. We wish them good skills on their musical journey!

On the 18th, we held our first concert of the year, and we congratulate all of our students and directors for their hard work for our Annual Fall Concert. As always, we enjoyed hearing from our orchestra seniors during Unity Circle and even started some new traditions with interview transitions between performances. We thank our orchestra families for being so supportive, and the students for putting their best foot forward with this concert.

Reedy Orchestra students attended Hansel & Gretel at the Winspear Opera House in the Dallas Arts District on the 25th. They enjoyed seeing the professional orchestra, and some of the students hope to apply what they learned to their performance in the pit orchestra of the RHS performance of The Little Mermaid on November 10-12.

Our students celebrated another tradition on the 28th, with the annual Halloween costume social. We loved seeing orchestra members go all out in their costumes and participate in seasonal activities like pumpkin painting.

Lastly, members of our Symphonic Orchestra brought Halloween spirit to Nichols Elementary and Reedy High School with some spooky music. Great job to all of the musicians on a great performance!
